Update 6 - Bye Goats Hello Worker Placement

Things have been busy here at PineAppleTree Games and while this update is a little later than planned, it’s because we’ve been deep in the work of making our games the best they can possibly be. Thank you for your patience, and let’s dive in.

Lapidary Legends

We’ve continued extensive playtesting on Lapidary Legends, and we’re now honing in on the fine details polishing balance, tightening decisions, and dialing in the experience we want players to have. At the same time, we’ve been actively exploring manufacturing options and sharing the game with publishers.

We recently heard back from AEG, who ultimately decided to pass, citing a crowded gem‑game market. While that’s never the answer you hope for, the encouraging part is this: they genuinely liked the concept. That makes me think we’re on the right track and we’re taking that confidence forward.

Two Players, More Depth

In our last update, we mentioned that the 2‑player version needed some extra love. That work is well underway. We’re focusing on extending the experience and giving two‑player games more meaningful decisions, ensuring Lapidary Legends shines at every player count.

Manufacturing & Kickstarter Momentum

On the production side, we’ve started gathering manufacturing quotes to better understand what a Kickstarter campaign would need to look like. One especially exciting win: we received a strong quote for injection molding, which makes self‑publishing Lapidary Legends feel more achievable than ever.

We’re continuing to gather additional quotes to build a realistic range and determine the right Kickstarter goal, one that sets the project up for success.

Update on the new game

While all of that is happening, we’ve also been hard at work on our brand‑new game, after abandoning Goats, it just wasn’t working and honestly didn’t match what we are going for. We’ve already run several fantastic playtests, and we’re genuinely excited about the direction it’s taking. It brings a unique twist to the table, and the feedback so far has been positive especially around how fun and engaging it feels.

The game has already gone through multiple iterations, and it’s evolving fast in all the right ways.

Thank You and Help Us Grow

We know game development takes time, but please know this: we’re committed, we’re learning constantly, and we’re seeing these projects through. Our goal hasn’t changed to create games you’re excited to bring to the table.
